Monterey Peninsula

Asilomar State Beach and Conference Grounds is set next to the beautiful 17 Mile Drive in Pacific Grove, California. Known for the striking architecture of Julia Morgan and John Carl Warnecke, Asilomar is also home to many ocean and shore creatures living on its dunes and beaches. Weather is often foggy and damp; be prepared for temperatures in the 40s and 50s, with the possibility of rain.

Getting There

Airports
Monterey Peninsula Airport (MRY), 15 minutes by car, and San Jose International Airport (SJC), 1½ hours by car, are the primary airports that serve visitors to Asilomar Conference Grounds. San Francisco International Airport (SFO), is approximately 2 hours by car from Asilomar.

Driving Directions
From San Francisco/San Jose:

• 101 south to
• 156 west to
• Hwy 1 south, through Monterey to
• Hwy 68 west – Pebble Beach/Pacific Grove exit, continue 3.5 miles
• Hwy 68 becomes Forest Avenue in Pacific Grove, continue 1 mile
• Left onto Sinex Avenue, continue approximately 1 mile
• Arrive at Asilomar front gates.

From Salinas/Monterey Peninsula Airport:

• Hwy 68 west to
• Hwy 1 south, through Monterey to
• Hwy 68 west – Pebble Beach/Pacific Grove exit, continue 3.5 miles
• Hwy 68 becomes Forest Avenue in Pacific Grove, continue 1 mile
• Left onto Sinex Avenue, continue approximately 1 mile
• Arrive at Asilomar front gates
